(I think I need a Master icon).
Welcome, everyone from the Doctor Who friending meme (which is not quite dead yet, btw, so if you haven't checked it out you should!) An introduction is probably in order.
Sadly, my introduction skills leave something to be desired. So have a bullet point list and feel free to ask questions.
(I really like bullet point lists. And parantheses.)
- My name is Mathilda. I usually go by Mathilda, as that is my name. It does not lend itself well to nicknaming, apparently, but somehow I've made do for the past nineteen years.
- I work as a substitute teacher, while studying Ancient Greek. I'm hoping to go into Theology come next Autumn, but until then I'm keeping myself occupied and hoarding money. It's not a bad life, though it's not a life I'd be comfortable with having for a terribly long time.
- Besides Greek, I've got two years of Latin and three years of Russian under my belt, plus some basic Spanish. Swedish is my native language. I really like languages, though I'm afraid I don't quite have the passion to study them professionally.
- So along with language, there's a passion of stories. I consider myself a writer, though I seldom finish much of anything. Ideally I would be able to get published some day, but that is a very distant dream atm...
- I have a bit of a history with depression due to a crippling tendency towards perfectionism that I'm still working on. I don't think this is going to turn up too frequently, but "mental health problems" seems like one of those things it's polite to mention in an introduction.
- I like talking. A lot. Presumably because I'm very bad at it irl.
As I said, something to be desired indeed. Feel free to throw questions my way, or just talk about whatever. It's usually harder to make me shut up than say anything at all.

Date: 2012-12-12 09:03 pm (UTC)I've been learning English since first grade... that's more than ten years, wow. But I blame any proficiency in using it on years of fanfiction. :P
